Frequently Asked Questions

Privileged Superior Ocean View Room FAQs

What does the Privileged Superior Ocean View Room at Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort and Spa look out on?
The room has an ocean view and a furnished balcony that frames the Caribbean horizon. It is a good spot for morning coffee, since the room has a coffee/tea maker, and for an evening outdoors. The room is reached by exterior corridors.
How are the beds arranged and how many people does this room sleep?
The room has one king bed and sleeps 2 guests. Blackout drapes, air conditioning and a ceiling fan help with sleep. The resort has no capacity for cots or extra beds in rooms, so this category suits two adults rather than a party with children.
What is the bathroom like?
The private bathroom has a rainfall showerhead and shower, with towels, bathrobes, slippers, free toiletries and a hair dryer. Housekeeping comes daily and there is turndown service.
What do Privileged guests get that other guests at the resort do not?
Booking a Privileged room gives you exclusive access to a separate beach area, a Privileged-access pool and the BLoved à la carte restaurant on the private beach. The Pure Chill Out Bar is also exclusive to Privileged guests. You also get one access per stay to the water areas of the Alegría Spa and a 10% discount on spa treatments, with reservations required. Treatments themselves cost extra and are not part of the all-inclusive package.
What is included in the all-inclusive stay, and what costs extra?
The all-inclusive stay covers a free breakfast buffet, multiple dining venues, Wi-Fi, five outdoor pools and complimentary non-motorized water sports such as snorkeling and kayaking. Extras include spa treatments, scuba excursions and certification, gift shop purchases, off-site excursions and laundry.
What are the dining options, and do I need to book restaurants?
Buffet dining at La Brisa and El Mercado is complemented by à la carte restaurants. These include Italian, Mexican, steakhouse and Asian teppanyaki venues, mostly serving dinner only. They require reservations and a smart-casual dress code, and guests are advised to book through Guest Relations on arrival day. Privileged guests can also dine at BLoved for breakfast, lunch and dinner on the private beach.
Is this room a good fit for couples, or families?
With one king bed and space for two, it is best suited to couples or two travelers sharing. The resort as a whole is family-friendly and not adults-only, with a supervised Kid's Club for ages 4 to 12 and a children's pool. Expect families around the main pools; the Privileged pool and beach area offer a separate place to settle.
What should I know before booking about arrival, age rules and the beach?
Check-in begins at 3:00 PM and check-out is at noon. The minimum check-in age is 18, and guests must show photo ID and a credit card at arrival. Pets are not allowed. The resort has direct access to a private natural beach about a five-minute walk away, and a protected snorkeling area lies just off the shore. Guests under 18 are not admitted to the Alegría Spa.
